Shut down!

Due to complete lack of interest in keeping several stuff going at once, I'll be killing this one off. I'll be replacing this (and the swedish counterpart) with a strictly phot-blog in english @ http://blog.motljus.net

Vacationblog!

Well, finally we've made our way home after the 2 weeks of town-jumping. Well, not a lot of jumping, actually, but.. a whole lot of town, though. I'll just quickly jot it all down with a few photos, mkay?

This is Ida's youngest brother (Jakob), and her middle-brothers girlfriend (Angelica. God, I love that name.). They graduated from school and we were there to show them how to celebrate. ;) They look so intensly neat and tidy, don't they? That changed as soon as they got their pre-present present!

As for the signs behind their backs.. that's just a swedish tradition that I really can't stand myself.. but who am I to argue with tradition?

Angelica has the worlds most beautiful smile, and Jakob has the worlds biggest.. uh, well, I'm not sure if I should say "heart" or "hair", but.. both, I guess.

This is about .. oh, five seconds after opening (simultaneously) their pre-present presents. One fully-loaded, neon-coloured, highly-efficiant squirtgun. We ordered their real gifts before we left home, but they didn't arrive in time, so.. they'll get those later.

I gave Angelica a hint about what it was: "From stockholm, fuzzy, and once it was alive." Go figure. ;)

Just before we left, we were invited to have dinner (BBQ!) with Ida's old childhood friends. The smiling one on the left is HELL-AY, and the slightly scrunched up (but very pretty) one on the right is RÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅÅSA!

We had a great time, and.. well, I wanna do it again. Soon.

The wifey had her Metal-shades on (her name on 'em, not mine..), so I felt a dire need to take her picture as well. It was a freakishly hot day, not a cloud in sight, and not a breeze to be seen. Not that breezes are seen all too often, but you get the picture, right?

We got severely sun-burnt a few days before, so this time we came prepared.. sunblock and stuff, but.. d'ya think that made a differance? Heeeeeell no.

At any rate, this is my wife, trying her best to look mean and menacing while at the same time sweet and lovely. She does that very well.

This is Jämtland at it's best, people.

When we got down to Stockholm, my wife instantly found something more adorable to cuddle than me. This lil' bugger had taken up temporary residence with our friends in Tallkrogen, and she really, REALLY wanted to keep her.

The owner of the dog, however.. had a different view of what should be done. My wife reluctantly gave ze dog up, but she is still dead-set on getting one of her own.

Here, it sounds like I'm against it; I'm not. I like the lil' buggers almost as much as she does, ok? =)

This is my wifeys self-adopted grandparents. They don't really know the meaning of being serious in everyday life, I think. Really liked 'em.

They took us by "Koviken" (where we spontaneously decided to host a big party in 2010) and served lunch. Actually, they served lunch FIRST, and then took us to Koviken, but seriously.. it's hard to keep track after a while. ;)

Koviken was veeeeeeery nice, and it was amusing to watch him run after the geese with the cane trying to shoo 'em off the beach. ;D

This is Anders, bassist of the band Disdained and also one of the brothers that keeps being foolish enough to let me 'n wifey stay at their place when we come to Stockholm.

The band really kicked ass, and just to make things a bit more simple, I'll post a bunch of photos of 'em without comments.

That was all the photos from the gig.. they simply kicked ass. And I truly apologize for the horrid layout here.. the interface is playing merry hell with everything, and I just don't have the energy to fix it.

A few days later, we went to the highly improvised archery-range and tried our very best to kill a bag full of junk. This is Anders, the very nice man who made all the equipment. Talented lil' fuck, ain't he? =D

This is Joel, the other one in the set of crazy brothers that we stayed with. Nice guy, and a lot more friendly than he looks in this photo. ;)

This is me. I'm not gonna say that I'm GOOD at archery.. I could probably not survive as a hunter with a bow and arrow.. but I don't suck either. I could probably hit an elk from at LEAST 2 or 3 paces. ;)

This is Pontus, the third guy living at Joel and Anders place. Not a brother, but bearded and skinny enough to look like he actually DOES live in the woods hunting stuff with a bow 'n arrow.

And for no reason what so ever, I decided to take a picture of both my rings. ;)

This is a photo of the roaring monster. ;)

Nerd-test

Modern, Cool Nerd
60 % Nerd, 52% Geek, 34% Dork

For The Record:
A Nerd is someone who is passionate about learning/being smart/academia.
A Geek is someone who is passionate about some particular area or subject, often an obscure or difficult one.
A Dork is someone who has difficulty with common social expectations/interactions.

You scored better than half in Nerd and Geek, earning you the title of: Modern, Cool Nerd.

Nerds didn't use to be cool, but in the 90's that all changed. It used to be that, if you were a computer expert, you had to wear plaid or a pocket protector or suspenders or something that announced to the world that you couldn't quite fit in. Not anymore. Now, the intelligent and geeky have eked out for themselves a modicum of respect at the very least, and "geek is chic." The Modern, Cool Nerd is intelligent, knowledgable and always the person to call in a crisis (needing computer advice/an arcane bit of trivia knowledge). They are the one you want as your lifeline in Who Wants to Be a Millionaire (or the one up there, winning the million bucks)! Congratulations!

Being the modern cool nerd that I am, I feel the need to point out that the figures doesn't really add up straight. ;)

Celly-pholly-phone!

After a short negotiation with Joakim @ Power, I leave the store with a new, black, sleek cool and awesome phone in my hand. It kicks ass, and also looks good doing it. I'm very satisfied.

Today's good deed..

...will simply have to be that I'm cleaning up a bit around the apartment. I'm all exhausted for some reason, and the first thing I do when I wake up is hurt my hand when getting out of the tub. Skill.

Oh well, keep ya posted.

Photography

Today, I've been busy in the photo-studio! I've shot a new gal for the first time (Marie, thank you), and I've also shot my wife (wich sounds more evil than it is). I got a whole bunch of very nice photos, and I'm going to spend a few days editing and weeding out the bad ones now. The one shown here is of course my wonderful, lovely, beautiful wife.

Most excellent, right?

Bang!

Well, the lesson for today is going to have to be: Crashing your car hurts. I was driving down a road at aprox. 50 km/h (at a 70 km/h-road). I was going to take a turn in an intersection, so i started slowing down aprox. 40 meters before the intersection. The car slowed to about 40 km/h, and I could turn the car just enough to aim it straight at the road-side metal bars. At 40 km/h, the tires just let go of the road, and no amount of braking or turning could do anything about it.

Bang.

All in all, I feel pretty ok. A bit tender over the chest where the belt smacked into me. It's a shame I can't say the same about the car.. Crushed headlights, the hood looks like a raisin and the fender is fucked. All in all: you don't wanna take it for a road-trip. So now I don't just own a volvo.. I own a volvo-puzzle! I'm gonna try (with the help of my father) to fix the car up as far as I can, but as I write this.. it doesn't look too good.

I'm gonna take a bath now, and see if I can get my chest to stop aching. =)
